I have been interested in flying and modeling since I was around ten
years old, when I had my first real airplane ride. Like most modelers, I
began building rubber band models and eventually graduated to control
line flying. In 1951, I obtained my Private Pilot's license and since
that time have flown aircraft from J-3 Cubs and helicopters to jets. I
got involved in flying radio controlled aircraft in 1981 and in 1985,
ducted fan models. My most recent adventure is flying turbine aircraft,
which in itself is a challenge. I have an extensive administration
background, ranging from twenty seven years in the military to being
president of the Harford County Radio Control Modelers for the past
twenty years.
