Believe it or not, my first "jet" was a Berkeley Models free flight ducted fan F8U-1 Crusader built and flown in 1958! My first stint in flying RC was for a short period in the mid Sixties. Military, college, and family obligations put RC flying on the back burner until the late Eighties. Since 1995 I've been involved building and flying jets including when the turbine bug bit me in 1998. I've been elected president of our local RC club a couple of times; served on various club executive committees, and was elected JPO vice president during Tom Dodgen's tenure. In the middle of all that I was an AMA associate VP for our district and continue to serve the AMA as both a contest director and leader member. I am "glad to be here, proud to serve" as your District 9 JPO representative and hope to expand JPO's presence throughout the district.
